The 'Green Revolution' meets the 'Circular Economy'

# Beauparc > Panda Recycling

For this massive merger of 64 legal entities into a single market leading player, a large and complex transformation programme was put into motion--with very aggressive deadlines and a small team of world-class contractors.

ERP and CRM business, system and data migrations had to be undertaken in record time. Additionally, a new single strategic data platform was required to being together all the legacy data warehouses, each with their own provenance and technology stack.

Key challenge: establishing a true data-driven culture is a challenge, in this case: (challenge) x 64 = transformation.

Key enabler:  C-level stakeholder management, a custom environmental-specific data model to drive all migration efforts and ERP & CRM implementations.  Rolled-up sleeves to work with the engineering team at the coal face to make it all happen. Results-orientation as the programme manifesto.

Enterprise Software: Data

# Sage

Sage is a large global, successful software vendor. Those three adjectives, each carries one or more realities that affect data.

  • Large: grown by acquisition, which means the origin of each subsidiary is different and the data that comes with each is in a different format.
  • Global: multiple domains, regional offices and a large human footprint required a consolidated, governed and agreed strategy.
  • Successful: companies that do very well, have fewer incentives to agree a global strategic data management model.

Key enabler: Meta-data repository, automated governance, MDM and lineage, Data Mesh and Data Vault architectures to link all the different datasets and object-oriented entity "keys" forming "key-rings" all linked into a "key-chain".

Human talent is key to making architectures happen. AI goes a long way to automate those agreement-based architectures.

Telecommunications and Utilities

# SSE > Neos Networks

For this programme, SSE Enterprise Telecoms required a transformation and separation from SSE PLC, The team were asked to define and implement a long term  Data Strategy. This required fundamental Cultural Change to align with the new Data Architecture we delivered. Data as the key asset at Neos required the whole spectrum of data solutions, from Advanced Analytics and BI to Integrations and Master Data Management via an enterprise Business Information Model.

Key challenge: culture must be re-engineered bottom-up and top-down, top-down being the more challenging part in this particular case.

Key enabler: the provision of an array of end user tools and skills that the "Data Workers" could use to dramatically improve their quality of life at work, increase productivity and efficiency to eventually arm them with the right arguments for management to be convinced.

Insurance, Internet of Things

# The AA

For this project, an external team, lead by Deloitte, were asked to complete a Digital Transformation that turned The AA from what everyone in the UK recognises into an "Internet of Things" powerhouse that not only does what we see on their TV ads, but can actually predict when, what, how, where and crucially "why" Customer events will occur and diagnose them in real-time.

Key obstacle: legacy platforms and their data, often incomplete and incompatible with each other.

Key enabler: a common, Cloud-based data platform with MDM as the backbone to link all the different entity "keys" into a "key-chain"

Financial Services and Retail

# Tesco Bank

The Bank required data realignment to be Customer centric. This started by developing a cutting-edge IFRS9 credit risk modelling platform as the key enabler to the famed "Single Customer View". However, the team worked to deliver an evolution of that to a collection of "Trusted Customer Views" based on Data Services that would provide each stakeholder group with a view of the Customer that is tailored to their specific needs. Everyone needs something different, so Customer-360  and TCV were born.

Key challenge: multiple service-oriented clusters developed over the years for specific use cases.

Key enabler: Declarative Data Services, reusable, use-case and system agnostic.
